Hands-On Nature Photography Outing

Join Mike MacDonald at one of his favorite Chicago area locations to experience and photograph one of the best native spring wildflower displays in the country.  (Gift Cards for this outing are available.)

As with all of our Learning Adventures, Mike will give you guidance and help you set up your compositions. As long as you stay with the group, he’ll help you with exposure, composition, or whatever you need.

Of course, we’re hoping for good light, but we’ll be happy with the glorious wildflowers even if it’s a cloudy day. We will arrive on location while the light is not ideal so that we’re in position to photograph when it is!

NOTE: These outings are planned several months in advance based on the best available knowledge and history, but there is no way to know what nature will bring. We’ll make the best of it!

Now, since these outings are about taking pictures, you need to be somewhat comfortable with your camera and how it works so that you can better enjoy the experience. Please read the Class Requirements for this course and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

The photo shoot will be held at a location, which will be announced after you’ve been accepted into the course. Depending on the start time, we may need to gather at a common point and then carpool to the location. We will shoot for approximately four hours, depending on the desires of the group.

Learning Adventure Agenda

This photography class will be limited to approximately 6 students per instructor depending on the experience level of the participants. So, please register quickly to ensure a spot.
