My Cordy. My Light.

My Cordy. My Light.

Hello and Farewell,

It is with a heavy heart that I announce Creative Eye Workshops is permanently closed.

Life delivered a brutal blow on September 30th, when Cordy, my lovely wife of thirty years, passed away during her battle with mesothelioma—a rare cancer caused by asbestos poisoning, understood and suppressed by the asbestos industry. The pain is excruciating. And though she is no longer physically with me, I am absorbing Cordy’s beautiful spirit into my heart. I have taken on the challenge of carrying her rare kindness into the world as I enter my third act, which I call “childhood in reverse.”

At every step of my life, I have passionately followed the voice in my heart, not the one in my head. Now, after eighteen years of teaching photography in my own special way, my heart has spoken. It is calling on me to relive a life of childhood wonder, filled with new experiences and spontaneity, and to continue pursuing my existing passions as a photographer, nature matchmaker, cyclist, and professional entertainer and storyteller.

Thank you to all my wonderful students who have trusted me to be your guide. It was a great ride. You learned from me. And I learned from you. You made me better.

I wish you the best in all your endeavors.

Sincerely,

Mike MacDonald
