BASIC COURSE PREREQUISITES
We only require that you have an excitement for photography, a desire to learn, and a digital camera that allows for proper learning. This class is a required for you to take Complete Exposure and other technical courses. You don’t need to take Get to Know Your Camera to take our Make Great Pictures, Now! composition class.
You need your own Digital Interchangeable Lens Camera (DSLR or mirrorless/EVF) with a lens. These cameras accept different lenses and give you complete access to all the controls. The camera cannot be shared with someone else in class. Most point-and-shoot cameras are automatic toys that do all the work for you, making them inadequate for learning photography.
Wonderful hands-on lessons take place during the second session. But you won’t be able to do them if you don’t do your simple homework assignment. The assignment is to find a handful of buttons and to read the handoutto absorb the information presented during the first session. When you return to the second session, you don’t have understand everything. But it is expected that you apply yourself. If your someone who needs a little extra guidance and attention, that’s okay. We offer private lessons just for you!
WHAT TO WEAR, ETC.
